What we keep about your business, why we keep it, and how to have it changed or removed. Last updated September 19, 2026.
What we keep
Your business name and the name of the person we deal with. The email address you sign in with, and the address your invoices go to if it is a different one. Your province. The services you hold with us and what each one costs you.
For payments: the brand of your card, its last four digits and its expiry month, so you can recognise it. We never see or hold your full card number. You type it on a page hosted by Stripe, our payment provider, and it stays with them. If you pay by Interac e-Transfer we hold the invoice and the date it was marked paid, and nothing from your bank.
A record of what we have done on your account: the dates your plan changed, the emails we sent you, the agreement you accepted and when, and any request you made from this portal, including a request to end your plan and what happened to it.
The internet address your browser was using when you signed in, when you asked us for a sign-in link, and when we emailed you. It is kept beside those records because it is what lets us tell your own sign-in from somebody else guessing at it.
Why we keep it
To run your plan, to bill you the right amount, and to be able to show what was agreed if a payment is ever questioned. The record of a request you made, and the date you made it, is how we answer your bank if you dispute a charge.
We do not sell anything about you. We do not advertise to you, and we do not use your information to build a profile of you.
Who else sees it
Four companies help us run this, and each of them sees only the part it needs.
- Stripe takes card payments and issues invoices. They hold your card details. We hold their reference for you.
- Supabase stores the database, in Canada.
- Netlify serves this site.
- Resend delivers the emails we send you.
Nobody else. We share nothing with anyone for money, and the only other reason we would hand anything over is a court order or a legal requirement.
These are companies with computers in more than one country. Your information may be handled outside Canada, and where it is, the courts and law enforcement of that country can require access to it under their own laws.
This site does not track you
There is no advertising code on this portal, no analytics that follows you elsewhere, and no third party script of any kind. The only cookies we set are the ones that keep you signed in, and there may be more than one because a long sign-in is split across them. Signing out removes them.
How long we keep it
Invoices, payments and the records that support them are kept for 6 years, which is what Canadian tax law asks of us. Everything else is kept while you are a customer and for as long afterwards as we might need it to answer a question about your account.
Ending your plan does not delete your invoices. You keep your sign-in and your invoices stay here, so you can read them later.
Asking us to change or remove something
Email hello@silavelle.ca and ask. You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct something that is wrong, or ask us to remove it. We will answer within thirty days.
When you ask us to remove your information, here is exactly what happens. We erase your contact name, your phone number, any notes we hold about you, and your sign-in. We replace the address on every email we sent you with a one-way code, so the record that an email went still exists and the address does not.
And here is what stays, because we are required to keep it. Your legal name and business name. Your invoices and the payments against them, which live with Stripe. And the log of what was done on your account, which we cannot alter or delete by design, because a record anyone could edit would be no use to you either. All of it is kept for6 years from the end of the tax year it belongs to, and then it goes.
If you are not happy with our answer you can take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
